About the company

Sublime dance company was born in the summer of 2010 at Hunter college, NYC. Inspired by the gorgeous studios that hunter offers, the wonderful dancers and a fantastic environment  populated by amazing artists, teachers, and mentors. Olsi Gjeci set goal to create work outside the exciting Hunter dance program, which was under the direction of the inspiring, unique and a force of true and sustained support for Sublime, Jana Feinman.

Sublime has been very active since,  performing  In NYC at well known spaces such as Judson Church, 92Y, LaMama Theatre, Dixon Place, Wild Project Theatre, Hunter College, Triskelion Arts Center, Wings Theatre, Edgewater Hall (SI), ‘Great Room’ for Movement Research (Brooklyn), White Wave/John Ryan Theater, St. Jerome Opera House (Bronx), NY Open Center, Waterside Plaza, Green Space (LIC), Madrid (Spain),  and Centro Cultural de Belém (Lisbon, Portugal).

SDC continues to  not only create & perform but also expand its educational programs mostly through teaching contemporary dance master classes, regular ongoing classes for every level and age, dance movement Therapy sessions, workshops and intensives.

SDC also focuses on establishing active dialogue with the community through open rehearsals and Q&a after every activity.

SDC is committed to engage the community through open conversations about movement on a both intellectual and physical level.
