Portuguese Women in the United States
October 5-26, 2013 

"Portuguese Women in the United States" by Arte Institute celebrates the role of the Portuguese women in the American society. Celebrations will take place during the month of October in New York, through a series of events that include lectures, talks, screenings, artists exhibition and concerts.

Program:

 
October 5 – New York University (53 Washington Square South - Auditorium– 3 pm
 
- Lecture with Joana Carneiro (Berkeley Symphony Music Director) and Susana Caldeira (Met   Museum Musical Instruments Specialist) 
   Field: Classical Music and Museology

Performance: The West European Symphony Orchestra (WESO/US) (String Quintet) plays Eurico Carrapatoso. 

Unexpected personal circumstances prevent conductor Joana Carneiro from air travel. She will be joining us live via internet. 
 
 
October 16 – MoMA (4 W 54 street ) – 7 pm
 
- Talk about Independent Cinema
