We have the pleasure to introduce you director Gonçalo Galvão Teles. His movie "Senhor X" will be screened at Summer Nights Series on July 28.
Born in 1973, GonĂ§alo GalvĂŁo Teles graduated from the University of Lisbon with a Law Degree before traveling to the United States to complete the Masterâ€™s Program in Screenwriting at the prestigious University of Southern California.
Upon returning to Portugal, his first produced screenplay, the animated short â€śThe Suspicionâ€ť, went on to win the Cartoon Dâ€™Or for Best European Animation of the year 2000.
Since then, GonĂ§alo has developed a career as writer, director and producer of several films, including the TV Features â€śPythagorean Theoremâ€ť (writer/director), â€śThe Brideâ€ť (co-director) and â€śGlory Gameâ€ť (writer), the feature films â€śAnother Manâ€™s Gardenâ€ť and â€śThe Last Flight of the Flamingoâ€ť (as screenwriter), and the short films â€śOver the Rainbowâ€ť, â€śMr. Xâ€ť and â€śBefore Tomorrowâ€ť (Best Short Film at the Portuguese Film Festival of Coimbra, Grand Prize at OvarvĂdeo and the 6th Mediterranean International Short Film Festival), all as writer/director.
GonĂ§alo is currently writing the screenplay for â€śNightly Newsâ€ť and preparing his feature film directorial debut â€śOne Dayâ€ť.
