History of the NY Portuguese Short Film Festival

The Arte Institute organized the first NY Portuguese Short Film Festival in New York as well as in Lisbon on 2 and 3 June 2011.

The event was hosted by the Arte Institute at the Anthology Film Archives and at Union Square Park. It was the first time that such an event happened in the United States involving Portuguese cinema, connecting New York and Lisbon at the same moment.

The two days Festival screened twenty short films produced in Portugal and abroad by Portuguese citizens.

The events in New York and Lisbon were streamed live on the internet.

On June 14th 2011, the NY Portuguese Short Film Festival 1 st Edition ended at one of the best concerts ever from THE GIFT!
